E-Safety & Safeguarding
Safeguarding and E-saftey.
Key Safeguarding Information
At Bodnant Community School, safeguarding is a shared priority. We work closely to keep children safe, including through our e-safety teaching and our child protection procedures. If a concern is raised, we act promptly and in line with our statutory responsibilities.
E-Safety Learning
Learners are taught about e-safety through bespoke lessons that are tailored to their needs and based on their previous knowledge. This helps children to build their understanding of how to stay safe online in a way that is age-appropriate and relevant to them.
- Lessons are adapted to suit the children in each class or group.
- Teaching builds on what learners already know and understand.
- Children are supported to develop safe, responsible online habits.
- E-safety is revisited regularly as part of wider safeguarding work.
Child Protection at Bodnant Community School
Bodnant Community School has an important role in the detection and prevention of child abuse. If a child reports abuse, or if a member of staff believes that a child may have been abused, the school is required to report the matter to Social Services. This is part of our duty to protect children and respond appropriately to any concerns.
- There are clear school procedures for managing suspected or disclosed abuse.
- Concerns may relate to physical, sexual or emotional abuse, or neglect.
- Referrals may be made to the Social Services Child Protection Unit where necessary.
- The school has trained staff who deal with child protection issues.

The named staff members for child protection are:

Please contact the school if you need to share a concern or seek advice about a safeguarding matter.
